The creation and activity of PIII is mainly based on the ULIM’s investigation policy in accordance with the legislative norms elaborated on the national level by ASM and CNEA.
   ULIM made an axis of its policy to the world, to the foreign languages and cultures, and the most important step was the creation of PIII.
  The Institute is supposed to be an ensemble of the investigation groups and aimed programs in order to present administrative basis and logistics in the domain of Philology and Interculturality.

  Scientific direction:Systemic and functional phenomenology in contemporary philology.
  The specific character of this direction of investigation consists in the complex heuristic character of the philology from the perspective of transdiciplinarity and interculturality.

  Axes of investigation:
  • The development of the new contemporary strategies of the investigation in linguistics, translation, literary science and glotodidactics;
  • The promotion of intercultural education in the instructive - formative process.

  Main objectives:
    • The development of philological thinking on the basis of the new philosophical, linguistic, socio-cultural theories in the contrastive terms: foreign languages/literatures/cultures in comparison to Romanian language/literature/culture and the elaboration of modern solutions and viable models capable to contribute to the formation of intellectual professionals;
    • The creation of the thematic investigation groups with the participation of the professors from the Foreign Languages Department of ULIM, as well as doctoral candidates, magistrates, students;
    • The instruction of the doctoral school for securing the continuity of the realized investigations;
    • Integration of the PIII in the international network of investigation and documentation.
